New and Pre-Owned Competition Leotard: Which one is better?

Every gymnast or every gymnast’s parent often hesitates about what leotard to buy before just another rhythmic gymnastics competition.

Nowadays, there are a lot of forums and web-sites selling second-hand or pre-owned leotards for performance. People public photos of the leotard, showing its condition closely and indicate its size, quantity of crystals and other details. And many people prefer to buy the pre-owned leotards. And many of these people are satisfied as the leotard looks good and the size is appropriate. But the most crucial thing is the price! It can be much lower than of the new leo. What more could a rhythmic gymnast ask for? Cheap and easy! or… cheap and nasty?

And that is the real question, as many gymnasts who have paid for the pre-owned competition leotard get disappointed when they put it on. In fact, very often such leotards turned out to be a bad fit. Sleeves are a bit longer, wrinkles near the armpits, and waist is looser than you thought. Your spirit fades, and you’re not shining with happiness and confidence at your important competition. Of course not always, but it happens.

One way or another, the situation with the new custom made leotards is different. Yes, you have to spend your precious time to choose the design you like, take your measurements and place the order in a web-store. Yes, you have to communicate a lot with the sales manager discussing every tiny detail, every tiny crystal and stroke on the leo. Yes, you have to wait nervously for the production time (1-2 weeks) and then for the parcel during 4-6 days. But believe us, that’s worth the effort!

A new custom made leotard is new in all senses. It is sewed of new fabrics, which are not stretched by some other person wore it before. So it will be a good fit in all parameters: waist, bust, wrists, upper arm etc. New competition leotard sewed specially for you means no wrinkles, no sweat stains. It hasn’t lost its color because of the wrong laundry. All the crystals are perfectly safe as well as the paint or print.

New rhythmic gymnastics leotard reflects your individuality, your character, it matches your apparel and music, it suits the idea of your performance. It is unique and exclusive as it hasn’t been seen at any competitions yet. There are no photos of it in the web. And, finally, new leotard provides with personal hygiene and cleanliness. What more could a rhythmic gymnast ask for?

Perhaps, it’s more expensive than the pre-owned one, but it meets all your requirements and it’s only yours! A cheapskate pays twice!

Of course, it’s quite rational to buy pre-owned leotard if you are short of time and the competition is tomorrow. But even in this situation an In-stock leotard is better, as it’s still new, you just have to find your size!

Anyway, old or new - that is for you to decide. But, in our gymnastics-fantastic, a new rhythmic gymnastics leotard always wins and it’s a better bargain in spite of the price. Weigh all pros and contras and buy what you really need, but still remember that a cheapskate pays twice =)
